About Bree & Co

Proudly Australian family owned and operated, helping rabbit and guinea pig owners provide the very best care for their small pets.

What started at home with a sewing machine, a love of rabbits and guinea pigs, and a desire to provide better care for small pets has grown into a retail store, warehouse, production space and specialist boarding service in Kilsyth, Victoria.

Bree during the early years before starting Bree and Co

From Vet Nurse to Small Pet Business Owner

After working as a veterinary nurse for 14 years, Bree took some time away from the profession following the birth of her first child.

During this time, Bree began caring for rabbits and guinea pigs and quickly discovered a growing need for specialised products and services designed specifically for small pets.

Between caring for family and animals, Bree started sewing fleece bedding and cage liners by hand. What began as a small hobby soon grew into a thriving business, with handmade products being shipped to rabbit and guinea pig owners across Australia.

Bree was also providing small animal boarding from home. More owners were looking for experienced care specifically for rabbits and guinea pigs rather than accommodation where small animals were simply added alongside cats and dogs.

Growing Into Bree & Co

Following the arrival of her second child, the boarding side of the business was temporarily paused while the handmade bedding range continued to grow.

Demand for fleece liners increased rapidly, the range expanded and sales continued to grow through eBay. Eventually, the business grew large enough for us to launch the Bree & Co website and create a dedicated online home for rabbit and guinea pig owners.

Over time, our range expanded to include food, enrichment toys, accessories, treats and our very own Stella Bites range, named after one of our much loved rabbits.

As the business continued to grow, we moved into our own premises in Kilsyth, Victoria, complete with a retail store, warehouse and production space.

We later introduced our Australian assembled C&C cage range, designed to work perfectly with our handmade fleece liners. Today, our cages and liners remain some of our most popular products.

Where We Are Today

Retail, manufacturing and specialist rabbit and guinea pig boarding now operate together under one roof.

Why We Do What We Do

We believe rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals deserve the same level of care, quality products and specialist support as any other member of the family.

Everything we stock, manufacture and recommend is chosen with the health, comfort and wellbeing of small animals in mind.

Whether we are handcrafting fleece liners, assembling C&C cages or caring for boarding guests, our goal remains the same: helping small pets live happy, healthy lives.

Specialist Rabbit & Guinea Pig Boarding

One thing never changed over the years. People kept asking if our boarding service would return.

We realised there was a genuine need for specialist rabbit and guinea pig boarding that focused entirely on small animals.

To meet that demand, we converted part of our Kilsyth warehouse into dedicated rabbit and guinea pig boarding rooms. This allowed us to provide accommodation designed specifically around the comfort, safety and daily care needs of small animals.

Our boarding service has continued to grow each year, giving pet owners a dedicated place to leave their rabbits and guinea pigs while they travel.

Built by Family, for Families

Bree & Co has never been just a business. It is something our entire family has helped build together.

From sewing bedding at home and packing orders on the dining table to running a retail store, warehouse and specialist boarding facility, every stage of the journey has involved family, friends and a shared love of animals.

The photos below capture real moments from that journey, with the next generation helping around the store, learning about animal care and becoming part of everyday life at Bree & Co.

More Than a Pet Store

What makes Bree & Co special is not just the products we sell. It is the people behind them.

Every fleece liner that is sewn, every cage that is assembled, every boarding guest that is cared for and every customer question that is answered comes from people who genuinely care about small animals.

Many members of our team are small animal owners themselves, and the products we recommend to customers are often used in our own homes and boarding facility.

Meet the People Behind Bree & Co

Every order packed, cage assembled, fleece liner sewn and boarding guest cared for is supported by a small team that loves animals and believes small pets deserve the very best care.

Every Bree & Co C&C cage is assembled and quality checked by our team in Melbourne. We cut our corflute bases in-house and continue to manufacture many of our products right here in Kilsyth.
