Small Pet Care Hub
Care Guides for Guinea Pigs & Rabbits — Beginner to Advanced
Start with the basics, then work through health checks, common issues and preparedness. Choose your pet below to get started.
Choose Your Pet
Pick a hub to get the right setup, care routines, and health guidance for your pet.
Quick start: new owners
- Get the basics right first: space, ventilation, comfort, and a consistent routine. For guinea pigs, our Premium C&C cages provide plenty of room for exercise, enrichment and natural behaviours.
- Monitor daily: eating, drinking, droppings, and normal behaviour.
- Do a simple weekly check: weight, coat/skin, eyes/nose, and feet.
- If something feels “off”, it’s always okay to contact an exotics vet for advice.

When to See a Vet (Red Flags)
Small pets can deteriorate quickly. If you notice any of the signs below, contact an experienced exotics veterinarian.
Seek urgent vet advice if your pet:
- Stops eating or eating reduces noticeably.
- Has breathing difficulty, noisy breathing, or discharge from nose/eyes.
- Has very few/no droppings, severe diarrhoea, or obvious distress.
- Has blood present or appears unable to urinate.
- Shows sudden collapse, seizures, or major behaviour changes.
