A happy guinea pig setup has five basics:

1. A roomy cage: a 2x4 C&C cage suits most pairs.
2. Soft, absorbent bedding: fleece liners keep the cage dry and dust-free.
3. Unlimited hay: hay should make up most of their diet.
4. Pellets and fresh veg: a quality pellet plus daily leafy greens and vitamin C-rich veg.
5. Hides and toys: at least one hide per pig, plus chews to keep teeth healthy.

What do I need to buy for a new guinea pig?

A cage (2x4 C&C for a pair), bedding, a hay feeder, a water bottle or bowl, a food bowl, pellets, hay and at least one hide per pig.

Do you sell guinea pigs?

No. We recommend adopting from a local guinea pig rescue.

How much hay does a guinea pig need?

Unlimited. Fresh hay should make up most of a guinea pig's diet and be available at all times, as it keeps their teeth and gut healthy.

Do guinea pigs need vitamin C?

Yes. Guinea pigs can't make their own vitamin C, so they need a quality guinea pig pellet plus daily vitamin C-rich veg such as capsicum and leafy greens.

Can I pick up my order from your store?

Yes. Choose local pick-up at checkout and collect from our Kilsyth store (Tue–Fri 10am–5pm, Sat 10am–2pm).
