Rabbit Post-Surgical Recovery Stay
$75.00
Specialist recovery care for rabbits after surgery, led by an experienced carer with a vet-nursing background. Your bunny stays in a quiet, separate recovery pen with restricted movement to protect healing. Through the day we give medication to your vet’s schedule, keep a close eye on eating, drinking and droppings, syringe feed if needed, and send you daily photo updates. Places are limited, as each patient gets dedicated one-on-one care. Please bring your vet’s discharge notes at drop-off.
Our rabbit recovery boarding gives your bunny specialist care after surgery, in a quiet, separate pen set up just for healing. Led by an experienced carer with a vet-nursing background here in Kilsyth, Melbourne, we follow your vet’s discharge plan through the day: giving medication to schedule, checking the surgical site, and keeping a close eye on eating, drinking, and droppings. You receive daily photos and updates, so you always know how your bunny is going.
Because rabbits are prone to gut stasis after anaesthetic, this kind of attentive aftercare can make a real difference to a smooth recovery. If your bunny is slow to eat, we provide Critical Care syringe feeding and gentle appetite support to keep their gut moving. Places are strictly limited, as each recovering patient receives dedicated one-on-one care.
What to bring

- All medications in their original packaging, with dosing instructions

Before you book

Simply choose your dates to book in, and bring your vet’s discharge notes to drop-off. We will take gentle care of your bunny while they get back on their feet.
What is rabbit recovery boarding?
It is specialist short-stay care for rabbits recovering from surgery or a procedure. Your bunny stays in a quiet, separate pen and we follow your vet's discharge plan with medication, wound checks, and close attention to their eating and droppings through the day.
Is my rabbit watched every minute?
No, and we will always be honest about that. Your rabbit is cared for with regular checks through the day rather than constant one-on-one watching. If your vet has advised that your rabbit needs continuous or hospital-level monitoring, they are best staying with a vet clinic.
Do you give medications?
Yes. We give pain relief and prescribed medications to your vet's schedule and keep a written log, so nothing is missed.
What if my rabbit won't eat?
Rabbits need to keep eating to recover well. If yours is slow to eat, we provide Critical Care syringe feeding and gentle appetite support, and we contact your vet if there is any concern.
What do I need to bring?
Your vet's discharge notes or surgical summary, all medications in their original packaging, and any recovery food or familiar bedding.
Does my rabbit need to be vaccinated?
Yes. A current calicivirus (RHDV) vaccination is required, as recovery patients are housed separately to protect them while they heal. Flea and mite treatment is also required per our standard policy.
Can you take my rabbit straight from the vet?
Often yes. Please arrange it with us first so the recovery pen is ready for arrival.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as you know the surgery date. Recovery places are strictly limited, so they fill quickly.
